Sad News From Gary Cole

Gary Cole, known for his role as Special Agent Alden Parker on “NCIS,” has shared his experience of joining the show following the departure of series stalwart Mark Harmon. As the new team leader, Cole has spoken about the transition and his character’s integration into the team. In the bonus content of the “NCIS” Season 19 DVD, Cole, alongside co-star Katrina Law, discussed the dynamic of the team post-Harmon and highlighted a significant episode where the team solidifies under his character’s leadership.

Cole reflected on being the “new guy” on the set, despite his vast acting experience, and has expressed his enjoyment in working with the cast. His character, while different from Harmon’s Leroy Jethro Gibbs, adds a fresh dimension to the show. Despite concerns that his character would simply replace Gibbs, Cole has described Parker as someone who respects Gibbs’ ways but approaches things with a bit of his own flair, particularly when it comes to handling new tech gadgets.

As for Harmon, there’s always a possibility for his return, with the show’s executive producers and CBS entertainment president confirming that the door remains open for future guest appearances. The premiere of “NCIS” Season 20 has been highly anticipated by fans eager to see how the show continues to evolve with Cole in a leading role.
